Romans 8:38-39 New International Version (NIV)

38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I saw this verse for the first time today, it popped into my mailbox on a day when I was feeling a little down because things were not going per “my” plans. It has been a quiet month in my business and there is barely enough to pay the bills, added to that there have been numerous unexpected expenses and big ones at that!

A couple of minutes ago I was driving and praying (I do that a lot when I am driving and I have a feeling that because of my driving, my passengers do to! J), anyway, I was thinking to myself, “It is impossible to live without love”, I believe that living without love could be termed as loneliness, for lack of a better word.

The beauty of it all is that even when we are on our own, without anyone to cherish, we are still loved, we are loved unconditionally by Jesus Christ, He is like a friend waiting in the shadows, just waiting for us to reach out and embrace the abundant love and grace He has to give us.

Then the next thing that came to mind when I saw the word love was :

Luke 10:27

He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'”

And the keyword I want to focus on here is “YOURSELF” – If you are suffering from low self-esteem or feeling unloved, unwanted or uncared for then start with YOURSELF, and love yourself the way Jesus Loves you and then you will be able to love your Neighbour ….

It all starts and ends with The Love that Jesus Christ has for us
