When we are going through something difficult, we shine the brightest when we endure through it. It’s our endurance that helps us to keep pressing through painful seasons of life. We will have trouble, but we don’t have to be afraid because the Lord is with us. How do we endure this life journey without giving up?

Endurance Principle #1) We endure because of what we know about God. (Psalm 46:10)
Our God is love. He is powerful and more than able to help us. What we believe about God will determine how we will endure through the difficult days.

Endurance Principle #2) We endure because it shapes our character. (Romans 5:3-4)
Character matters in the kingdom of Christ. What we say, do, or think is evidence that our character is being shaped by God, instead of by our flesh or the influences of the world.

Endurance Principle #3) We endure because Christ endured suffering for us. (1 Peter 2:19-25)
Persecution and suffering comes to those who follow after Christ’s example. We know that our light and momentary suffering is working a greater purpose in our lives especially compared to our heavenly reward.

Endurance Principle #4) We endure because we are maturing in our faith. (Hebrews 12:7)
Endurance over time helps us to grow in spiritual maturity. We become more controlled and led by the Spirit of God instead of being tossed by every carnal whim or temptation.

Endurance Principle #5) We endure because there is an eternal reward. (2 Timothy 2:12)
As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we can expect great rewards in this lifetime and the next as we endure like good soldiers. There’s no comparison on earth to what God has prepared for those who endure to the end.

Dear Lord, I pray that You put a spirit of endurance in my heart to press forward in the faith regardless of the trial that is before me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
