CREATED FOR HIS GLORY
CREATED FOR WORKS
We know we’re not saved by works because our works are nothing more than filthy rags to God (Isaiah 64:6) and He will not accept them, but the value of our good works is to glorify God, and in fact, we were created for good works. That’s what the Apostle Paul said in Ephesians 2:10 where he wrote “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Wow. Did you read that? God prepared these works for us to walk in before we even existed. How amazing.
CREATED FOR SALVATION
God’s Word declares that He “chose us in him before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and blameless before him” (Eph 1:4) and “in love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will” (Eph 1:5). Because of His great love for us, “we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will” (Eph 1:11).
CREATED WITH PURPOSE
God never does anything without having a purpose. There are no “accidents” with God. Every single thing that God does has a very specific purpose, and your being created is no different. If God created you, you have a purpose. He was deliberate in planning you from before the foundation of the earth was created (Eph 1:4). How amazing is that!?
When someone has an accident at a family gathering, I joke, “Hey, if someone’s going to have an accident, it’s me” because I do have two left feet. My girls (my wife and daughter) have all of the grace in our family…but that doesn’t matter to God. You and I weren’t an accident. You and I were deliberately planned, so don’t ever think you have no purpose in life. That’s not possible because God never does anything without purpose. The Word of God tells us so. Never put feelings over facts, and the fact is you were no accident. God had great purpose in creating you.
